Travel Day

Yesterday our trip was both uneventful and eventful at the same time.  The actual flights and connections were great, we had no issues at all in Toronto, London or Nice - however we had a couple of instances of elecronics miscommunications between Jay and I that resulted in the ultimate loss of his iPad.


First, on the way to the Toronto Airport Jay asked me to call Rogers for him to add the Europe phone and data plan.  So I did, and it connected to the car by bluetooth, and I set the phone down in the cup holder and Jay talked to the Rogers rep and added the Europe plan.

We got in, got checked in, went through security, went to a restaurant to get the girls some dinner and have a snack for us and Jay said to me "do you have my phone?"...uh, no.  It must still be in the car - well, we have 2 hours before our flight leaves, why don't you just go back out and get it?  So he did and came back about 35 minutes later with his phone.  After dinner we went to the gate and pretty much got on the plane right away.  The girls wanted a photo with the giant penguin..

Then, we get in the plane for our London trip and out of my backpack I pull my iPad, my headphones, Paige's iPad, headphones and snack bag and hand it to her (we're sitting together), I take out Sophie's snack bag, her iPad and headphones and Jay's iPad and headphones and put it all in Jay's seat (just in front of me)...now, somehow he managed to get both the snack bag and Sophie's iPad and both sets of headphones but never saw his iPad (I don't know if it fell down beside the seat or what) - but the same thing happened as we went back through security in London to go to Nice - I took my iPad out of my backpack and told Jay to get the girls out of their backpacks and his to go through the security scanner and he said "I don't have my iPad, I never used it on the plane - you still have it".  Uh, no - I gave it to you at the same time as Sophie's snack and iPad so that we wouldn't have to keep getting up and going into the overhead compartment for stuff.  Anyway, its gone!

We arrived in Nice and got our luggage and headed to the apartment we rented.  We had to wait bout 10 minutes for the owners cousin to let us in and give us a quick tour.  We went back out once we got here and down to the sea.

We grabbed some fruit, bread, cheese and water for dinner and went back to the apartment to have dinner and relax (for Jay that meant go to bed at 6pm).  The girls and I lasted until 8:00pm, but Paige literally fell asleep while I was giving her a manicure!  I put some 'instant dry' top coat on her and put her to bed!  I went to bed at 8pm and we all slept in until 10am this morning...Jay got the most sleep at 16 hours...but he was up between 2:30 and 5:00am so he got the same as us, almost 14 hrs.  Good news is we're pretty much on Nice time!
