Last day of vacation, hump day of vacation, first day of vacation - a matter of timing

Today Dwayne, Lea, Trev and Jay head home.  The girls and I are staying for another week, and Gram and Maria arrive today (on the flight that Jay will leave on).  We've been watching the flight from Toronto and it left about an hour late so we knew that we could take our time to the airport today.

We packed up all our clothes and stuff and I packed up all of the extra groceries from the house to bring to the new house as well.  Jay took the girls down to the beach, with Trevor, around 9:30 and said that it was really great waves.  Trevor took a video of them boogie boarding (Trev, can you send me some of those pictures by email?).

We decided to head out around 11am and got the cars all packed up.  We wanted to have lunch down a little closer to the airport - and we found out that we couldn't check into the other house early so we would have some time to kill.  Dwayne likes to be at the airport REALLY early - Leanne says its a process, they talk about it the night before, about what time he wants to be at the airport and then they negotiate from there.  He's just nervous they don't have enough time to get there and through security, etc.  We had wanted to leave the house at noon, and then be to the airport around 2pm after lunch, but we weren't sure that would give them enough time for the 4:20 flight because it was such a big plane and some caribbean airports are just a disaster.  So we left at 11am, went down to the St Lawrence Gap area.  There weren't a lot of restaurants open, since we got there at 11:30am and none of the shops were open.  We figured this was because it was so early, but we remembered later that today was Sunday and most stuff closes on Sunday.

After lunch, we tried to go to a mall to kill some time, and this is when we realized its Sunday and nothing will be open, so we decided to head to the airport - Dwayne was SO happy.  It was 1pm, the flight was delayed until 5..so he would be to the airport 4 hours early..Lea said "Drive slow Dana".

Once the girls and I dropped them to the airport we went in search of the next house.  I followed the directions, which were pretty easy, and found it with no problem.  Mom and Maria's flight was delayed until 3:25 so the girls and I went to find a grocery store and got there with 5 minutes to spare!  The grocery stores are open Sundays but close at 2pm, except for the Supercentre that Lea and I went to the first night which is open until 7pm on Sunday.  I already knew what I had as far as groceries left over from the first house, so I bought a few more ingredients to make Paella for dinner.  We also saw where the Fish Fry is at the Oistin's Fish Market on Friday night, which was on the website for the house we rented, so we'll head there for dinner on Friday.

When the grocery store closed we went across the street to the beach to check it out, if it was nice the girls were going to change into their swim suits in the car and go for a swim to kill some time, but it wasn't nice, it was dirty and I think there were homeless people living under some of the trees so we hopped back in the car, did a little exploring and then went back to the airport, which had a few shops open in the main terminal.  Plus a bar!  haha.  We got back to the airport around 2:30pm, went into a couple of the shops and the girls shared a pizza slice and pineapple juice and I got a pina colada at the bar.  We sat for a bit and then about 3:20pm headed over to the arrivals gate.  I asked at the bar if I was allowed to take a pina colada over to arrivals and they said yes, so I ordered two!  I think they thought they were for me (and I bet you did too), but they're for Mom and Maria for when they get out.

They arrived, they drank, we added Mom to the rental car and we were off!  We came home, unpacked the groceries (including more tequila and limes and some beer for Mom) and I made Maria her first (of many) tequila sours..and I immediately regretted having only bought 1 bottle.  Next we made a pitcher and they were as delicious as I remembered..from yesterday.

We  had Paella for dinner, just missing a little something spicy, so we'll pick up some Bajan Hot Pepper sauce (also known as burn your face off sauce) to add a little kick to the leftovers.

And Maria says she'll dive!  I wanted to do another dive, so that's super awesome.  She will do the Discover Scuba Diving and I'll do a two tank dive and meet her for her first dive, my second - I'll call in the morning to find out when we can do that.

More tequila sours, Maria is apparently addicted to them..and to Candy Crush so the girls were getting her help all huddled the three of them on the love seat and playing before bed (at 8:00pm) ...this is the life!  LOL.
