Physical Distancing - Day 26 (Day 40)

I intended to do a work out this morning but also did another 30 minutes of yoga stretching.  I got up and did it around 9am so at 9:30am when I was done it was a rush to get out the door so that we could get to coffee at the Faust’s in the back 40.  This morning Trev, the Corey’s and Sarah were there. Trev is going down to Patricia’s later today and he and Jay wanted to do a bike ride - because Jay can’t just travel with Trevor and I didn’t want to leave yet Jay took the Civic and drove it home so that he could meet Trev for the ride.  I also wanted Jay to finish up the ride so that we could go to the car parade today at 2pm to support the staff at the long term care facilities in town.

We had a really nice chat.  The weather was beautiful, we sat in the sun and its pretty sheltered so its not windy.

I left the Faust’s around noon, I had sent a text to the girls to ask if they wanted to come to the car parade and make signs and no one answered (they were inside) so I went home.  30 minutes later I got a text from Paige that said “sure”.  So I told them I’d come back and get them at 1:15pm so that we could go into town.  I cut the handles off of an Ivivva bag, because they’re blue, tied them onto the antenna on the truck, picked up the girls and got back to pick up Jay.  Paige and Myah went in his car with him and Sophie and Avery were with me in the truck.

It was really nice to see how many of the staff at the facilities came out to see our parade.  A lot of them were standing out front waving and some were crying.  Avery said “That was really nice” and you could tell that she was really sincere, it was a nice moment and I think it was good for the girls to see the people who are working to help our aged and vulnerable community members.

I got an email from the Manager of Reachview yesterday with some photos of our gowns being worn by staff.

Yesterday or the day before in a press conference Trump was bragging that he was coming up with suggestions for the doctors to follow up on to see how the virus could be killed and that they were researching his suggestions.  Two of them were to put UV light right in the body and to inject disinfectant to kill the virus.  Asshat.

There have been many many many memes created and even the Trump supporting media is having to admit that this was ridiculous.  Clorox had to put out a media message saying that they did NOT support the idea of injecting disinfectant and Steve said yesterday an Emergency Alert went out in some States advising people to not do this.  Lemmings.

Saw this funny meme and shared it with our Peeps friend group.

After the parade we came home and I made brownies.  We’re going to Faust’s for a BBQ and I’m on dessert and salad.

I made the little one to keep at home and the big one to take with us and then made some caramel sauce, even though I made the brownies with milk, dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of just dark. Its an amazing recipe for brownies from scratch.  My go to.  Hardly any flour and 10 eggs, this was a double batch, it makes a 9x13 and an 8x8.

We left around 4:30pm and played a game of Yahtzee outside with wooden dice, Jay won.  Steve bbqed chicken thighs with a honey garlic sauce that Julia makes which is amazing, chorizo sausage and some jerk sausage I got from the Meat Merchant in town.  The jerk sausage must have been chicken they were really flavourful, not hot at all but with a nice flavour.  Brownies were delicious and the whole big pan got eaten! I took the big pan figuring I would leave any leftovers for them when we were done but there was only one brownie left!

We played some Super Tock after dinner, the girls are now up 14-11!  We brought Ava and Myah home with us last night and the girls set up shop in the basement spare room so that they could play Mario Kart and we wouldn’t know how late they stayed up!

Physical Distancing Day 25 - (Day 39)

Its Friday.

I set the alarm for 7:45am to get up and do the workout early today.  I decided yesterday that I was procrastinating too much and then the rest of the day was too short (because I didn’t have my shower until 1pm!).
At 8:30am I texted the workout group and said “I’m 30 minutes behind and an hour ahead of schedule.  Progress”.  I got up, got dressed and went down to the gym intent on one of the Curves workouts, but I started and my shoulders were too sore for the bands so I looked up a yoga stretching video online and did that instead.  I’ll do the walk later today to make up for it but at least I got moving.  The stretching was really amazing, it felt so good.

See, look how zen I feel.

I saw this meme and thought it was really funny!  Mom says she has refried beans so I’ll test it out.

Our mail lady dropped off the seeds and growing kits that we ordered to support Jack’s Scout troop and to start our garden.  When she dropped it at the end of the walkway and I came out to see her she thanked the girls for their sign at the bottom of the driveway.

Jay and I went to the dump in Port Perry, we got our dump fee free because the guy liked my truck.  Haha.  Jay got a new car in January and I took over the pick up truck, so I call it my truck just to bug him.  After the dump we went down to Whitby to pick up the dog food I had arranged to be ready for curbside pick up this morning, they called me yesterday to say that it was ready.  While we were gone the girls had to vacuum the floor.  We’ve been missing Joanne since this started but have been doing ok cleaning the house (I guess she will be the judge of that when she comes back!)

I’m a couple of days behind so I can’t remember what we did for the rest of today.  The girls finished up their homework yesterday so that they can have today off.  We may have played Mario Kart?  I think I watched a couple of episodes of Killing Eve.  Kobe came over for a workout this afternoon.  I went up to Moms for a walk.  Same Same but Different.

Sorry peeps, we didn't really do anything today - we ate some more, we sat some more at the beach, then we ate again, then we sat again...
