Dubrovnik Day 2

So good news - I didn't bang my head on the ceiling last night..we'll see how tonight goes!

I woke up around 7:30am this morning and started reading in bed since Jay and Mark weren't up yet.  It didn't take long for Mark to get up after me and Mark made coffee (instant with coffee creamer, not the best but nice for the host to provide) and we sat on the balcony chatting while I blogged until Jay finally got up around 9am.

We had our yogurt and granola on the balcony and relaxed for a bit while I finished off.  When I was done with the blog I turned the computer to Mark to see if he wanted to read what we did the day before and I got ready to head out for the day while the boys read.

I have a friend who's selling Arbonne, so I bought a travel kit that includes like 9 products that is a face care 'regime' - yeah, I know, right?  So anyway, I've totally screwed it up so many times because you're supposed to follow the order of products.  I've put the lifting gel on my neck thinking it was the neck cream, today I put the neck cream on my eyes thinking it was the eye cream..but at least I'm doing it, lol.  I bought the travel kit because its all small and will last about a month..if I can keep it up for a month (and you all comment on how my skin glows) then I might buy the full kit.  I'm on day 2 - haha - we'll see how it goes - worst case scenario I'll have the softest hands from all the products!  If my face looks smoother when I get home don't comment - its probably just the weight I gained on vacation!

We can see the cable car from our side balcony, it's up at the top of the hill

but couldn't figure out how far it was out of the city and so decided to drive.  Turns out its just a tiny bit further and higher than where we had dinner last night, so we parked the car nearby and decided to walk through the Old Town first and maybe have lunch in there, before going up the cable car.

We opted not to walk the top of the wall, it was $25 pp and Mark had done it before when he was here on a cruise.

Once we finished in Old Town we walked to the cable car and rode up to the top.  It really is a beautiful view.  We had lunch at the Panoramic Restaurant, which is owned by the same restaurant we went to last night, so Daniel had given us a 10% discount card if we went today to Panoramic.  Mark and I each had the beef carpaccio for lunch and shared fries - Jay says Mark is my new Trevor (those are tough shoes to fill, so we'll see).  Jay's still stuck on pricing - the kuna is about 5 for every $1 Canadian.  His burger and fries was 96kn, so $18..he said it better be a good burger - I figure you're paying for the view!  Later I told him "Relax, with Mark and I sharing meals we're doing just fine"

Delores, Mark's girlfriend, FaceTimed him just as we were ordering lunch, but it was so bright out he could hardly see her on his phone, so he put the phone under the table into the shade and looked down at the screen from directly above it.  I said to him "You don't want to know what your face looks like from that angle...although I'm sure she's seen it from there before so you're ok"..Jay laughed and said I have a dirty mind - I just thought it was funny, dirty was happenstance.  When he got off the phone he was so in awe of the technology and how amazing it is to just be able to video chat across the world.  It is pretty amazing and we take it for granted - already, and it hasn't even been around that long - imagine what our kids will be taking for granted, its astounding.  Later in the day I taught him how to airdrop me photos he had taken, he's going to be a tech wizard by the time he leaves..well maybe not quite, but Jay says he's already come a LONG LONG way.

After lunch we came back to the condo so that Jay could have his vacation nap and I could get started on the blog.  We had two wrong turns on the way back up to the condo trying to find the parking garage but they were very short distance wrong ways and there were only 3 options, so once we exhausted the first 2 there was only 1 option left!

So I'm sitting on the balcony writing, waiting for the prosecco to chill in the freezer so I can enjoy a glass out here with Mark, who has also fallen asleep..in the sun.  Actually just before he fell asleep I said "if you're going to fall asleep in the sun you might want to put some sunblock on" - so he got up and did that and now is sleeping.  I also suggested he move to the comfortable reclining chair that had a cushion on it that was tucked in the corner..he had a much better nap I'm sure.

I FaceTimed with the girls while the boys napped - Sophie is pissed she doesn't get to stay in the fun apartment.  Both girls wanted to see what was up the cool stairs - Paige wasn't awake when I first went up and showed Sophie so I had to go up again - they're like a death trap..totally crazy steep, not a deep enough tread and no hand rail - definitely not to code!

I also did some laundry this afternoon in the teeny tiny washing machine, which took forever even though I put it on quick wash and eco mode.  Then we hung the laundry out on the balcony on a drying rack so I felt I needed to warn Mark about my Grandma Klausson underwear (big, comfortable underwear that won't ride up your crack while walking around old medieval cities) which I bought for our trip at Mark's Work Wearhouse...at least they're in fun colours (peach, teal, periwinkle) and satiny soft.  When Jay and I first started dating he said something about Grandma Klausson underwear...it wasn't until a few years later that I found out that Grandma Klausson was a real person and was his cousin's Grandma on his Mom's side!

Jay slept for almost 2 hours so I finally woke him up and we all sat out on the balcony chatting and laughing for a few more hours until we were ready to get set to go out for dinner.  I had my shower and washed my face with 18 steps (I did the night time routine because it's 6pm and I'm not doing it again before bed - my face will just have to "repair" from 6pm on today - a few extra hours might help), got dressed and was ready to go. Then the boys did the same, fairly painless.

We decided to go back to where we had dinner last night because it was a nice walk there and back and very good food.  Tonight we shared a cheese plate and each had a feta salad.  I had emailed Delores, Mark's girlfriend, with a link to the blog so that she could read it earlier in the day and she emailed me back saying she had received it and to have a prosecco for her...so I sent her this picture

And said "This one's for you...sorry, I drank it".

After that I said to Jay that I didn't even feel like I needed to have dinner, and he felt the same.  Mark still wanted to order the spaghetti bolonese and wanted someone to share with him, so I said I would have some - I'm glad I did because it was really good.  We stopped for icecream on the way home, but neither Jay or I really liked it and ended up throwing half of it out - Mark liked his, he had chocolate and mojito (two different scoops), I had tried coffee, but it was no gelato and Jay tried strawberry.

Now we're back at the condo, I'm sitting on the patio finishing off the bottle of prosecco (its open, so we can't take it with us in the morning) and finishing off the blog for today - which will get posted at about 4:30pm home time..which means two blogs for you today and none tomorrow probably!  We are checking out at 9am tomorrow morning so I won't have time to do the blog in the morning so figured I would do it now while it was a beautiful evening...and the prosecco needs to be drunk, it can't go with us in the morning - did I say that already??.....
