The cicadas are SO loud. Its hard to explain how it sounds, but if you can imagine the sound of one cicada in your backyard then imagine ten thousand and you'll have an idea!
Paige was the first one up with me, she is dying to know if she can let the pigs out of their pen in our yard, but its 6am and I'm not texting Jai to ask. We got the hammock down for her and I sat and wrote out the blog while she swung.
I went back to look at the ad, there are definitely no photos of the kitchen, haha.
Jill plans on going to yoga today at 9:30am, it works well that we have 2 cars because she and Ava can do their own thing if they want to. I asked Jai if we would be ok piling all into the same car or if it would be an issue and be pulled over - she said that we could get a fine from the police for not having seat belts for every passenger, and we have actually seen quite a few police here. Not like in Flamingo where we had 8 of us in a Hyundai Accent when Dad, Jim, Mom, Maria, Me, Sophie, Paige and Myah were in the car!
The girls voted for the beach closest to us, which is Jaco and Jai said to go down to the South end of the beach, you can rent chairs but she has 5 camp chairs at the house so we took those down and set up in the shade. There isn't much shade and I can see it being gone by about noon. The tide was really far out, I didn't even go in the water because I didn't want to walk that far! lol.
Paige and Trev played football for a while, eventually Sophie joined in and then Jay. Jay also lost the glasses that he bought at the airport in a wave! He paid $69 and had them for a day. Oh well, could have been worse, he could have remembered his own glasses and lost Maui Jim's!
We sent a message to Jill and Ava that we were going to go back to the house and put on some dry clothes before going back into town to grab some lunch. By this time I had heard from Jai that we are welcome to let the pigs out anytime we want, but if we go out to just lure them back into their pen with a piece of fruit. This is Baja.

There are two other dogs too, Pina and Callou.
We decided to go for lunch to a place in town called Ridiculous Burger that we had seen last night when we went to sushi. I took pictures of the menu, each burger had a photo, so that I could compare what we were supposed to get vs reality.

Totally unrealistic. lol. The girls ended up getting Subway, which was across the street from the burger place - some battles just aren't worth fighting.
Paige did get a caprese salad though in addition to her sub.
I have to say that the burgers came out pretty much exactly how they were supposed to! I got the Texas, but had a lettuce bun, but asked for a knife and fork and ate it like that.
Jay and Trev both got the Mexican burger with fries.
Our server was SO friendly. We also went here because they have crazy shakes, but when we got there the blender was broken, which was a total lunch bag letdown for the girls.
I got a marguarita on the rocks and asked for an extra shot of tequila because it was a little sweet.
We went to buy boogie boards for the girls and they had these cute hats, so I got them each one, they were only $10.

On the way back to the house after lunch we are mostly dirt road with no one on it as we get close to the house and Sophie asked if she could sit on her knees to look out the window and I said, sure, if you want you can sit on the edge and just hang out the window. Paige immediately popped up and did it, Sophie took some more convincing, she's not quite as brave at some things.
Between this point and bed there are about 4 hours, many notes that I have no idea what they mean and the following pictures of Trev, passed out in the pool (there is a bathing shelf here that he is laying on).
Here goes with the notes and I'll see if I can make any of them make any sense at all since I don't even remember writing most of them.
We spent all afternoon in the pool drinking tequila sours mixed with beer. The pool is warm, just the wrong side of refreshing, it could stand to be just a tad cooler, but what can you do. Its better slightly too warm than too cold for sure.
There is an art exhibit at the Jaco Walk that Jai had told us about and Jill and I wanted to go, so when we all got out of the pool we decided that Jill, Ava and I would go and Jay would stay back with the girls to babysit Trev. lol.
When we got in the house though we realized that Ava was in no shape to go either - Jay was razing her, he said "I'm staying for you...its Day 1 in Costa Rica - you get a pass because you're 34, if you were 42 you'd be fucked" As in he won't raz her too much because she's a newbie and didn't know any better. Haha.
There were more notes, but I honestly have no idea how to put them in context.
On the bright side, we have a lot of time to sleep it off because its 6:38pm and we're all going to bed! I think that might be a record..
