It was a rainy day in Flamingo..

6am and I can hear the girls downstairs so up I get, down to the kitchen where the coffee is already made and sit to finish yesterday's blog.

Janet (the names have been changed to protect the innocent) came out and asked if anyone had seen a plunger.  Robert asked if she had tried holding down the button, Janet looked at Robert and said "Yes, honey, I tried that".  I said "I'm pretty sure you exhaust all of your options before you come out to a crowd and announce you need a plunger!"

After finishing coffee its workout time, and today Jim is joining us.  Its arms and abs day, which is awesome because I can't sit down my legs are so sore from yesterday.   We did a 40 minute workout today in the courtyard and I was sweating so much my wrists were sweating!  It was more humid today working out, which makes sense considering the rain we had later.

Use the tools you've got. The big jug we used for the curls and press and the small bottles for arm raises.

After the workout Jim, Maria and I went for a dip in the pool and were chatting about plans for the next few days, they're planning on golfing on Tuesday and then Maria mentioned about meeting them after their game for lunch.  Mom overheard from the pool deck and said that maybe they would like to have lunch on their own and I said it was Maria that was suggesting that we meet, not me.  Then we talked about being friends and that there would be no hurt feelings if anyone wanted to go do anything on their own and I said "Maybe I'll go have lunch on 'my' own!"

After the workout I finished the blog completely and posted it, as Mom sat reading it she kept mentioning each time I picked on Maria.  I said "Maybe you should be funnier and you'll make the blog" She said if its going to be like that she doesn't want to be in it!  I told her I would give photo credits to Maria and she said it would be nice to say something nice about her.  We love Maria.  She takes lots of nice pictures.  There. ;)

It started raining this morning, I'm not sure what time - but the sky looks like the kinda sky that's going to rain all day, and it did.  The plan had been to go to Playa Flamingo this morning and then Coco's for lunch, but since Coco's is open air dining we scrapped that in favour of driving to Tiki's.
We had a great local server, Kevin, who recommended the Chicken Curry when I asked him if I should have that or the Local Fare, a beef casado.  He also recommended the macadamia crusted sea bass in a lemon seafood sauce with rice and butter vegetables, which is what Mom got.  Dad got a shrimp basket, Maria had the seafood casado, Jim got a buffalo chicken wrap with fries and the girls had mac n cheese.  There was also a kitten at the restaurant that Sophie fell in love with and petted the whole time we were there, so when the food came she had to wash her hands and wasn't allowed to pet it until she was finished.  All the food was delicious, except the mac and cheese which had no flavour.

After lunch we stopped on the way home at the Super Massai to pick up a few things we needed for dinner.  Mom is making nachos today, so we needed sour cream and a few other things (more bread, feta for the salads, cereal for the girls)  We usually end up making a stop a day for groceries and this trip has been no different.  I had also told the girls they could get a treat so they got a chocolate covered icecream donut on a stick.

When we got back to the house, after putting the groceries away, Maria and I made 2 new pitchers of tequila, there's still a half a pitcher left from yesterday too, so in order to prepare the pitcher for use today that had to be emptied ;)  Later in the day Maria came outside and asked how many bottles of tequila we have left of the ones we bought at Duty Free.  I said we have 4 bottles left, we bought 8.  Dad turned to me and said "You have gone through 4 bottles of tequila in 2 days?"  No, we've gone through a little less than 2, but we have 2 pitchers in the fridge on standby that we haven't touched yet. "Ok, I was thinking I should take you guys to a meeting"  I looked at him and said "We're not ready".

Jim's not having sours today he opted to switch to red wine, which wasn't great, but he learned yesterday online that you can make a cheap wine taste better by putting it in the blender for 90 seconds, so I took it in the house and blended it and tried it again and it was better. Still a Merlot, but better. Lol. Then when Jim went to clean up the blender the bottom fell out of it and he got red wine all over his shirt!

When my Mom came out a little while later after prepping dinner I said "So what broke in there earlier?"  Maria broke the measuring cup.  "The measuring cup?!?!  That's the most important thing in there!"  Apparently the handle was the only thing that broke, so the measuring implement is still intact.

Its been raining all day today, so the girls have been on their iPads.  I predicted earlier that the girls will be a disaster at bedtime because they haven't expended any energy today but also because once you take the iPad away they go through withdrawal like a crackhead.  I was right.  Sophie and I had a confrontation where she kept saying pacific when she meant to say specific so every time she tried to explain something to me and said pacific I would interrupt her and say specific..which got her very angry and she finally walked off.  I turned to Jim, who was chuckling, and said "that was entertaining".  The whole episode was over an Oreo.  The girls ate their leftover mac n cheese for dinner and we were trying to get them to try a little of the nacho ground beef, just a bite.  I said to Paige, "if you eat it, you can have an Oreo after dinner and if you don't like it just spit it out, I won't get you in trouble".  Sophie wanted the same deal after all the meat was cleared and put away in the fridge but I told her the opportunity had expired and she kept saying "you pacifically said" "specifically" "you pacifically said" "specifically".  Good times.

Dinner's over, that must mean its bedtime.  The girls had a quick shower and we said goodnight to Crabby McCrabberson (the resident crab that lives in the girls room)..Paige calls him Larry.  I thought maybe he would be an incentive for them to keep their rooms clean, but no - I guess they'll just have to shake out their underwear before they put them on!
