We got late to a workout this morning, it was after 8am when we started and it was 29 degrees, feels like 32 degrees. It was just Maria and I so we did a 40 minute leg workout. I really didn't want to do the workout this morning because I woke up with cramps, so I'm glad Maria and I have each other to stay motivated.
We finished at 9:15am and both agreed that we need to get at it earlier - this morning was a disaster with the girls and it took almost 2 hours to read their books. Sophie was complaining and being a pain and then when she went to her room Jim and Maria commented on how they almost busted out laughing at her so then when it was Paige's turn she totally played to her audience..which was extremely frustrating, so I took her upstairs pretty much immediately so that she could focus on reading with just me and then told her I didn't really appreciate that at all.
I had a timer on for Sophie. Time to "figure herself out".
Sophie lost the iPad for today (because she didn't figure herself out before the timer went off, lol), which they usually spend an hour in the morning doing the duolingo app with my Mom or watching videos of themselves as babies on the iPad, basically huddled in a chair with an adult trying to get some screen time. So Jim was playing solitaire on his iPad and was teaching the girls how to play it and I reminded her she had lost the iPad so I sent her in to find some cards and said why don't you play Solitaire with the actual cards..she said "Ok, but you have to play with me!" Its Solitaire, you play by yourself.
Sophie asked Maria, who was in the pool - "Did you see Elfie this morning?" Maria said "I did, I asked your Mom if he drank the pina coladas" and I said "No, that was you!"
Its close to noon now, so Jim is getting ready to go. As we were getting our stuff gathered and shoes on Dad woke up from his nap on the couch. I said "Nap number 1?" Yeah. "Did it sneak up on you?" Yeah. A man of few words my Dad.
The drive to the airport was fairly uneventful, we had to take a short cut down our hill because at the top of the ridge there was a work crew - we couldn't figure out which way to go and they weren't being helpful at all, so finally someone coming from a different driveway said for us to follow him down the hill, which was awesome. Then we got shortly delayed for some road paving, but we still got Jim to the airport in about an hour and twenty minutes. I asked Maria when we got to the airport why she was driving so slow..she's usually speedy - but apparently Jim is a little bit of a nervous Nelly so she had to drive slow for him.
After we dropped Jim off at the airport we went down to Thrifty to return the rental car, we hadn't filled up the gas and she said the discrepancy was going to cost $33USD for them to fill up or we could take the car to the closest gas station, 6 km down the road, and fill it. We didn't figure it would take $33 in gas and we had the time so we took the car down and got gas. We put in $10 and it wasn't enough so we added another $10 and then it was full when we only had to return it to 7/8 full..oh well. We got back to Thrifty and returned the car. I had seen a little restaurant that looked full near the airport so we stopped there for a snack before heading to the airport to pick up Jay. Maria and I shared a fajita snack and each had a diet coke and then went over to the airport, parked and waited for Jay to come out.
The drive back from the airport was equally as uneventful, we could see black clouds in the distance over near where we are staying but the rain was done by the time we got to the house with Jay after stopping at the SuperCompro for some groceries we needed. Leftovers for dinner tonight (Welcome to CR Jay! lol) so we didn't need much at the store.
We got to the house and the girls were waiting at the front gate for Jay to arrive, which was nice for him. We got in, had a swim, had some snacks and dinner, Maria and I squeezed all the limes and put the juice in a container in the fridge because some of them were going bad.
We finally figured out the lights in the pool! Well, I had never been up late enough to care about the lights in the pool, so last night when it was mentioned I just made my way around the pool area flicking on and off all of the lights until I turned on the pool lights and some nice lights on the trees in front of the pool as well.
