This morning, the boys last morning, we decided we would go to Playa Dantita, a small, secluded beach with a path you take over the hill from the parking lot of another beach. Jay took the girls with Trevor and left a few minutes before us, but when we got to the parking lot he was still there with the girls talking to a Costa Rican guy.."Uh, Dane?" Jay came walking towards me with Colones in his hand.."this is all you". The guy basically explains that he is the Tourist Police and will watch our car and make sure no one breaks into it and if we're happy when we come back we can show our appreciation.
and then down to Playa Dantita which is very nice, very gentle and very private! We wade in and actually swim (as opposed to play in the waves and collect sand in our bits) in the ocean.
First thing the girls see some hermit crabs on the beach,
First thing the girls see some hermit crabs on the beach,
first thing Jay does is go for a walk around the bend to see if, while the tide is out, we can walk back along the beach and rock instead of hiking back over the path, which we can!
We only stayed about an hour at the beach and headed back to the house because Jay and Trevor need to leave around 11am to get to the airport for their flight and we are going to go to Tamarindo today to show Maggie and Alice and do some shopping and probably meet Sarah and the kids for lunch. We left the beach and got back to the car and paid the 'tourist police' $4 for his trouble as he tried to explain to other people arriving what the deal was. At least since he had seen us he had put on an official looking reflective bib!
We met them for lunch at The Ocean, finished up with shopping and groceries at the Super Compro before we come home.
We played Crazy Eights before bed and called it a night.
