ATVing is the favourite so far

We got up this morning and got ready to go on our ATV tour, Alex is to be here around 8am to pick us up and take us to the rental place.

There is a little mix up when we get there, they have 5 ATVs, but they plan to have a guide in the front and a guide in the back.  But we need 4 ATVs for the 4 adults and 5 kids (Jackson is riding with the guide).  We get it all sorted out and we just have one guide and off we go.

Sophie and Paige can't decide if they want to ride with me or Maria, Alice definitely wants to ride with Maria but has to ride with Maggie, Sarah rides with Ellie and Jackson with the guide.  Sophie ends up riding with me at the start and we plan to switch half way.

About 10 minutes into the ride I ask Sophie if she's enjoying the ATV and she said "Yes!  Is this what he does for a job?"  Yes, it is - she says "I know what I want to do when I grow up!  I want to work at a grocery store or in a restaurant!" ok, random.  I told this to Maria just now and she said "When Sophie was on the ATV with me she said she wanted to be an ATV instructor when she grows up"..that makes more sense based on what we were doing!

The first stop was the end of Playa Brasilito in a wide open area where we were able to take the ATVs into 5th gear and let the kids inner speed demons take over, we took a quick stop to take a water break and get a group shot.

The guide, who we are pretty sure didn't introduce himself, asked if we had been to Playa Conchal, the next beach over, and we hadn't, so we decided to go there on the ATVs.  We drove through an easy path and then over a steep little hill and into Playa Conchal.  At this point the kids hopped off and had a swim in the water - we had asked Alex if there would be any swimming and he said no so we had taken the towels out of our backpacks, except for Maggie who had one so all the kids dried off with it and then changed into their undies on the beach.

The ATV tour was a big hit with everyone, I have a video of Paige when she was driving, she was so excited to be driving by herself that she gunned it and I was laughing so hard!

After the tour we came back home and dropped off Maria who has been desperately trying to stave off a migraine for the last few days with Advil.  We chilled out for about an hour and then went to lunch with Sarah, who would head back to Playa Grande after lunch.  We decided to try The Beach House (the Garbage Restaurant) because everyone has said that its really good, and we knew it was on the beach so maybe the kids could play in the water while we waited for the food to arrive.  But, even better, the beach house not only had a kids play area (a room full of 'lost toys') but they had Sangria!  So the kids were occupied by the play room while we enjoyed Sangria and the breeze off the ocean.

At one point the girls were playing and everyone started giggling - Jackson was in the high chair and the girls were changing his 'diaper'.  I said to Sarah - he's either a really good sport or he has a crush on someone.  She said "Oh yeah, he asked if we could stay here and play with the girls"  She had said something yesterday as well - she said that every day he has worn either a wife beater or a rash guard, but today when she said they were leaving to meet us all that he went to change and had put on a button down shirt...oh and so it begins.

We enjoyed lunch and then went home.  While Maggie and I were sitting on the deck all of the sudden out of the corner of our eyes we saw movement in the tree right off the deck and saw a Mama monkey and two babies with her.  Literally they were about 15 ft off of our deck.  I'm not sure what the girls had enjoyed more, the monkeys so close to the house or the ATVing but all in all it was a great day!
