Day 7 and the last day too

Day 7 and the last day too

The internet here is terrible, 1 bar of 3G so uploading the blog, or doing anything really, most of the time you're watching the spinning wheel of death.

As soon as the girls get up in the morning they ask if I'm done the blog. This morning because I woke up early I had it mostly done and was just adding the pictures. So Sophie lay in bed beside me holding the phone and watching the spinning wheel of death until it was published and then all 3 girls woke up, piled into bed and read the blog.

After breakfast they all went to the park, they had made arrangements to meet Katelyn at 10am. I didn't see them again until 11:30am when they came and asked if they could go swimming. While they were gone I had a shower and enjoyed the peace that comes with an empty campsite. Lol. Jay went for a bike ride, missed a turn and ended up biking an extra 10km.

The girls got changed for the swim, Sophie wanted to try this floating dock/mat that's on the water, but when they got down there they put a toe in, looked at the mucky entry and decided to hit the heated pool instead.

They dipped a toe in the water and said the pond was warmer.  "You think the pond is warmer?"  Yeah. "It said it was heated." Well that was wrong, Myah said - her tone of voice was so disgusted. Lol.

When Jay got back we decided to go out for lunch then back to Sauble. We went back to Walker House in Southampton and both ordered the burger, which was good - but not as good as the "Best Burger in Tobermory".

The restaurant has a bunch of TVs so everyone can watch no matter what seat you're in. Jay wonders why a baseball Manager wears a uniform like the players when no other coach in professional sports does that. He decided to send it out to the "boys" to get their opinions. They bantered back and forth and then Jay lost it over an inappropriate text, I think I mostly because it came from Dwayne and it's unexpected, he laughed until he cried. He doesn't do that often!  It was a total burn on Trev and I can't repeat it on the blog!

From lunch we went to the dunes again, the girls choice, and after an hour and a half there we went to Sauble Falls, mostly because I had to pee.

I entered the most disgusting bathroom/outhouse I've ever been in before. There were 3 flies flying around the seat and bowl and the smell was fowl. I breathed through my mouth, and didn't even want to think of the stink I was breathing in.  But then I didn't quite hover close enough and pissed down the back of my legs and onto the floor, more splash back from peeing on the front of the seat and thought 'Great, now I'm part of the problem with this bathroom. Fucking beautiful'.

The girls decided they would jump off the falls - Paige went first and did it so quickly I didn't get a chance to even get my phone ready to video!  Myah went next and I got her jump and Sophie was last and took a REALLY long time.

She was standing at the edge saying to Jay "I really want to jump but the water is too fast, but the water is too cold, but it's too loud, but there are fish, but there are rocks, but it's too high..." and on and on. Finally she jumped and she popped up with a panicked look on her face and said "I don't like this, I don't like this, I don't like this. It's so cold. It's so cold". In her defence all the girls popped up with the same wide eyed look of panic the other two just faked it better!

Sophie got out and came straight over to me and said "Daddy said there were no fish but then I saw a duck go down and eat a big one just after he said that!" Lol.

We got back to the Campground and I got dinner started on the BBQ we got from my brother (Thank You Matthew!). I also brought hashbrown casserole and the microwave in the motorhome is convection so it doubles as an oven. So we had jerk chicken, sausage, pasta salad and hashbrown casserole. Myah again was like "what's in here? It's so good". Hashbrowns. "No, like what are all the ingredients". So I listed them all for her, not sure she will make it, but she likes it!

As I was making dinner Jay was looking all over for his iPad. Finally, when the girls biked up I said "I'll give you guys $5 if you find the iPad" (we had both looked all over). Within minutes Sophie said "did you leave it on the piece of wood at the dune?"  OMG. So Jay and the girls left in the middle of dinner prep, I turned off the BBQ and figured it would take them about 35 mins to get there and back. But in the car Paige's finger started to bleed so Sophie opened the glove box to get a napkin et voila!  iPad located. They were back in about 20 mins.

After dinner the girls biked back down to the park and we told them just to come back when it was dark. We read outside for a bit then got all the beds ready. It was cold, so Jay went to bed in his sweatpants and sweater. The "king size" bed is as wide as a king but is short like a double so my feet hang off the bottom if I sleep with my arm up, which I do, and Jays REALLY hang off. He said "I think I'll be warm enough but my feet will be cold". 'Put socks on. They're blankets for your feet'. He didn't. His feet were cold.

It was FREEZING when we woke up. I got up and started the fireplace (electric heater).

We packed up after breakfast giving the girls each a chore to do and then letting them go to the park while Jay and I finished up the last half hour. Our goal was to leave around 10:30 and it was 10:40 when we pulled out of the campsite.

So long Glamping!  By the end Jay said "If we do this again...". He never made it to the 7th circle of hell so he might just forget how much he didn't like it. We'll see.
