Dantita and Tamarindo

This morning I'm sore from our workout yesterday, I asked Maria if she would be willing to do a Vinyasa Flow yoga this morning instead of our typical circuit training workout.  I found a video online and we streamed it on my laptop and did an hour long class.

After workout we got ready to go to the beach, Dantita today.  Dantita and Danta share the same small parking area, Danta is the larger beach and Dantita (basically means small Danta) is around the next cove so we hike up and over the ridge and back down to the beach.

Dantita was fairly busy today, there were 5 other groups there - that's one nice thing about here, the beaches are never crowded.

Dantita is a floating beach, its not wavy.  This year it got deep right away and had no sandbar as in previous years.

After a little over an hour at the beach - the big girls helping Sophie to work on her back handspring in the sand and the big boys playing with the water ball Anthony and Sarah brought, Paige and Maddy played some racket ball and Sarah and I floating when she wasn't freaking out over something in the water touching her, we headed back to the parking area but around the point along the beach (not the hike over).

On our way back we saw a troop of monkeys, including a couple of babies, right above us in the trees.

On our drive back to Flamingo we came across 2 Tico's picking up limes off the road, one of their cases had fallen out of the back of the pick up truck, so we stopped the two trucks and 10 of us piled out of the cars and helped them to pick up the limes out of the road, we had it finished in no time!

We went back home, turned around quick in about 20 minutes and headed to Tamarindo for lunch and some more souvenir shopping.  We went to The Ocean again.  While we waited for lunch the girls went down to the water and searched for crabs in the tidal pools.

Sarah has been looking for whole fish on the menu since she got here and the catch of the day today was Red Snapper.  She and Anthony both ordered it and said it was really good.

Maria and I shared Chicken Curry which was really good, the chicken was very tender, and we also shared Milenese which is a thinly pounded steak, breaded and fried with a few fries.  It was good, I remembered Dad had had it last year.  We could have shared just the steak, even though it wasn't big, we didn't even eat half of the curry but brought the rest home.

Jim ordered chicken pizza which said it came with fries, but he didn't know that the fries would be on top!  He said "This is like a dream come true!".

The girls went shopping while the boys decided to find a bar and drink so they didn't have to shop!  Jim came with us shopping for a bit and then went to find the boys but they gave us sketchy directions to where they were (because they were drunk).

Back at the house, it was a LONG day today.  We didn't get back until a little after 5pm because we stopped at the grocery store in Tamarindo for another car full of food.  All the girls are tired and Myah misses home.  She was crying and wanted to FaceTime Julia but I explained to her that she's tired and asked her if we could lay down and read a book together until she was calm and could have a happy FaceTime with them and think of all the fun things they did today.  She did really great, we read 2 chapters and then she had a good chat with them on her iPad.  She only gets upset right at bedtime and only every 3rd night or so now - but now we have a plan, anytime she wants she can come ask me to read to her before she FaceTimes so that she can happy FaceTime.

Trev BBQed burgers for dinner.  That was the plan, but at one point I said I didn't care if I had a burger and the only one who still wanted a burger (or cared) was Maria, then Dad said well if you're going to BBQ then I'll have a burger - then we all went back to having burgers, lol.  Except Jay, he had his leftover pizza from lunch and went to be at 6:45pm.

A big crab was on the deck, but we scared him into the pool.  The problem is that he can't get out - I felt bad so tried to get him out with the pool net and I'm pretty sure I killed him in the process.  Best laid plans.

Late night tonight, a little after 8:30pm, the kids have been sleeping for a while.
