Tamarindo

Day 2

This morning we woke up at 5:45am, had some toast with peanut butter, sat on the patio, had coffee, wrote up yesterdays blog and then finally started our workout around 8:30am I think.

Maria and I did a 47 min workout (with rests) in the courtyard, Jim came out for a few minutes and did some stretches and the girls played inside.  It was so hot that Maria and I didn't get our post workout selfie and hopped right into the pool in our workout gear afterwards.

After our dip in the pool we had a snack and headed to the beach a little after 10am for some fun in the waves.

Done at the beach at 11:30am since we want to go to Tamarindo today and do our full grocery shop and have lunch.

The walk up from the beach is worse than the walk down!
At this point, half way up is an outdoor shower to rinse the sand off. This is the driveway for Mom and Dads condo building which is the shortcut back to the house.

On our drive to Tamarindo Jim was chuckling while reading yesterday's blog. The girls asked him to read it to them and Myah said "I'm usually the star of the blog because I say all the funny stuff".  True story.

As soon as we arrived in Tamarindo, about a 30 minute drive from Playa Flamingo, we went to lunch at The Ocean - we should broaden our horizons but the Camarones Salteado are so good that we don't want to.

The girls went down to play in the ocean while we waited for the food to arrive, when they come back they're looking a little pink.  I asked them if they put sunblock on their faces this morning (like I told them to), 1 out of 3 ain't bad, but I wish the 1 had been Myah since she's not mine!  I let them be responsible for their own sunscreen this morning (spraying themselves in the front and their faces and I did their backs), not happening again. As it turns out later in the day we realize they're mostly pink because they're hot.  Its fucking hot.

After lunch we do a little shopping in Tamarindo for souvenirs for Myah and the girls.

Then we go grocery shopping - $577 later (Cad) we have 2 full carts which translates to a full trunk in the truck.  Good thing the girls are skinny because we put two of them in a seat meant for 1 at the back of the car while we put up the other seat to fit all the bags.  All those groceries and we'll still have to go to the grocery store every day. lol.

As soon as we get in the house we get in the pool.  The girls and I have fun playing with the plastic ball (soccer size) that we bought at the grocery store (they also snuck in a bunch of cookies, yogurt drinks and hershey's chocolate shakes! They had fun roaming around the grocery store on their own to fill up their basket full of treats, another advantage of having 3 girls together because I probably wouldn't let my girls on their own do it but 3 seems safer somehow and they're enjoying the independence - (except when it comes to applying sunblock, that's now my job).

Mom bought all the ingredients tonight to make nachos for dinner and soft tacos for the girls.  I failed to emphasize how much the 3 girls love soft tacos and how many they can eat - so they piled through the pack of 10 soft tacos quickly and efficiently.  Mom said "If I knew how many they could eat I would have bought more cheese and more hamburger!"  In her defence the only things Myah eats in copious amounts are cereal and tacos!  Mom mentioned that she bought the veal because it was cheaper then the hamburger and the girls asked what veal is, so I told them its baby cow.  Sophie got a sad look on her face while Myah popped a piece off Paige's plate into her mouth and was like "its delicious".

I brought yeti cups for Jim, Maria and the 3 girls and brought myself my new jumbo cup.  I thought I should take a photo and Jim said "Do you want something in there for perspective?"  No, I think there's enough perspective captured here.  lol.  I mentioned that I haven't hit my water drinking goal for the day (8 cups) and Paige pointed to my sours cup and said "Doesn't that count"  No, I wish!

As we ate our dinner of nachos Dad said he liked the music (I'm streaming the Spotify Classic Rock)  and "All Right Now" by Free was playing.  I said "This is before my time.." joking, because I love this music but Paige piped up "And 'your time' was a LONG time ago"..

Right after dinner is bed, as per usual.  Myah decided to sleep with me again, we chatted and joked for a few minutes before we were both sound asleep...7:30pm.  I love it here.
