We’ve been getting up later down here than we usually would at the house. In the house we were always up between 5:45 and 6:15am and here I’m definitely not out of bed until 8, even if I’m awake at 6am, I doze until about 7:30am and then slowly get up.
Maria was up earlier this morning though and went for a walk on the beach.
I got dressed for the gym, but Jay and the Corey’s has a plan for the gym already and it’s not very big. Jay said he’d be only about 30 mins and would let me know when they were done. An hour later I went and changed out of my gym stuff, into my swimsuit and made some breakfast to take to the beach. During the hour Maria had texted that she was bailing on the gym anyway, when I went inside I asked if she wasn’t feeling well - she said no, just lazy. Lazy doesn’t get you out of the gym! We planned to go later in the day but then I got lazy too and we both stayed lazy so we didn’t go.
Surfbox today! I told the girls if they didn’t want to eat at Surfbox they could have peanut butter sandwiches and just get a milkshake, which made them happy and me happy because I didn’t have to listen to them complain about the menu or pay for half eaten waffles.
When we got there there was a big golden and his owner was standing at the window chatting with the staff inside, Jim said something to the dog but then said maybe it didn’t understand him, the owner said “No, he speaks English, he moved here from California”. Then she told him to get his leash and come and he picked up the end of the leash and followed her to the car.

We, of course, had the Cuban sandwich!
We, of course, had the Cuban sandwich!
It’s sour time. We stopped at the grocery store (again, our daily trip) and got 34 more limes so we’re up to 92 limes so far. In our defence one was used for guacamole.
The girls were playing Marco Polo and deciding who was going to be it between Sophie and Paige so they had to pick a number between 1 and 20. Maddy and Avery picked the number and told Maria for good measure - I asked if they had to get the closest or they had to get it right and Maddy said “Eight”..but she meant to say “Right”. Then she said “Oh. Hahaha”.
My new floatie has a little sun shade on it. When I got out of it today the sun shade popped over the front and caught me under the chin (like being jerseyed). Very graceful.
When Marco Polo was done the girls started a game where they were spitting pool water at each other, Jay said “you know Dana peed in the pool and now it’s in your mouth”. I said “I didn’t, but if you think about it there are at least 4 crotches in there now”. It didn’t seem to deter them at all.
We sat by the pool for several hours chatting with a couple who own a unit, Scott and Stacey. Scott shared in the tequila sours and I sent them the recipe for it by text. They say it gets crazy here, almost all the units occupied or rented between Christmas and New Years and in Feb and March. We asked them about the HOA changes since the developer has backed away (Scott mentioned he’s on the committee with Mike, the owner of my unit). I mentioned the floatie issue that we had and suggested that they have a removable sign about the floatation devices so in busy weeks Management can use their discretion, which Stacy said she thought was a good idea.
Around 6:30pm we went in for dinner. I bbq’ed chicken and Maria had made roasted potatoes and Greek salad. As I was standing at the BBQ Paige said to me “Are you wearing a bra?” No, can you tell? “Yeah, what’s usually up here is down there”. Lol. It’s very unlike me to go without a bra, apparently for good reason!
After dinner we played one round of 5 Crowns at our place and went to bed a little earlier than normal, I think it was 9. Lol.
