Jim’s iPad cover with a little quick editing because the girls want to touch it.
Jay got up a little after 6am this morning and went for a run. When we got up and downstairs Anthony came over and asked if Jay wanted to go to the gym. I was dressed for the gym so Jay said he would be quick and just do 20 mins of weights and went to put on his shoes and socks and said “my socks are a bit moist, and not an ok kind of moist” (damp from the dryer as opposed to from running sweat) and then promptly dropped one into a puddle. Lol.
Oh, we also learned that Stacy, from yesterday’s blog hanging out in the pool, was the one who complained about me floating in the pool. And an email was circulated through an owners group that ended in Mike, our owner, saying “don’t harass my guests” which Maria said she was impressed with. Sarah and Anthony were talking to another owner who told them all this!
Jay came back very quickly, the Corey’s started doing squats and Jays but was still sore from the workout they did the other day. So Maria and I got ready to go over and saw Sarah and Anthony had finished as well.

Creepin’ on the house next door.

When we got back I finished up the blog from 2 days ago (Day 4) and posted it before we left. We were a little short on chargers and my phone seems to be dying fairly quickly the last few months.
Paige had wanted to go to Dantita yesterday but no one really felt like doing too much, thus the lazy day, so I told her I would take her but she opted to wait until today, unless no one wanted to come then she said she would go with just me. Most of us were up to it today - Jim and Maria stayed at the condo and said to text them when we were leaving the beach and they would try to get a taxi to The Beach House, which is on the way back from Dantita.
Dantita is beyond Potrero, past Las Catalina’s resort, about a 20 min drive from our place then a 15 min hike up and over the ridge to the beach. Because of the hike it’s usually a pretty quiet beach, but I can see when all the condos at the resort are finished how that will change.

Just before we got to the beach we saw a bunch of monkeys in the trees.

Dantita is a nice floating beach. It’s very picturesque with the coast really hemming it on the two sides and the small islands in front. The water is calm and the beach is tiny shells. Jay and Anthony went to the far side of the bay and did some snorkeling with their goggles on. Anthony saw his first sea turtle which he said was a huge highlight for him.

When we were floating Avery asked me when I was going to post Day 4 of the blog. Lol. I told her I got 4 finished before we left and would post Day 5 by the end of the day :)
We got here later than we normally would and the tide was up so we weren’t sure if we could walk back around the point or would have to hike back up and over. We sent Jay to the point and he gave the all clear that there was enough land to walk around, that it wasn’t water around the point so we could walk back to Danta that way and to the parking lot. Technically, we could always walk to Dantita that way too, but we like the hike to get there.
The Corey’s decided to walk back along the trail so we waited for them in the parking lot until they arrived. They had also texted Maria to let her know we were on our way to The Beach House so they arranged to meet us there.
They got a car, it was $10 and it was a big passenger van so Maria got the drivers number and we decided if we go back to La Forketta for dinner we would have him drive us so that no one has to drive, because he can get all of us in the van.

The Sangria at The Beach House is so good! I was driving so I just had one, but Maria, Jim and Sarah got a second pitcher as well when Anthony said he would drive home.

Anthony told the server how impressed he was at how well behaved the parrot is...
The girls went down to the beach to see if they could find any sand dollars, a few years ago they had found live ones on the beach.
When we got back we jumped right in the pool! Well, Maria and Sophie did. Jay actually went home with the Corey’s because he talked them into a Surfbox shake on the way home for dessert. I joined the shortly in the pool and then when the Corey’s arrived Sophie jumped out of the pool and I said to her “just go in and change out of your wet stuff before you go to their place”.
When Maddy came out to the pool we asked where the girls were and she said inside watching Jessie. I asked if Sophie had changed before she went there “No”. She’s still in her swimsuit? “Yes”. You should go get her and bring her back in a fireman’s carry and throw her in the pool. “Can I?” Yes! Tell her I want to see her because she didn’t change and that will get her out and then throw her in towel and all.
Sophie wasn’t too upset about it. I just said maybe next time she should do what I asked.
While we were sitting around the pool Maria made a reservation online at Angelina’s. Later I asked if she had remembered to ask for Argerie as our server, she said the only request I made was that it was Jay’s birthday. Lol. That’s to get him back for Jim’s 60th last year! Later she said Bashir replied to her - so he is the Canadian who owns NUMU, Angelinas and one other restaurant. I had thought it was the BeachHouse but Anthony talked to Scott, the owner, today when we were there so it might be Lucy’s? She asked him to put us in Argerie’s section when he confirmed the reservation.
Because there was some cloud cover tonight the sunset was beautiful!
We were playing cards on our patio so Maria went down to the beach and took some photos.
Finishing one hand, counting points, I said “Jim you got 8?” 38. “Ok, I’m going to have to carry the one on this one”. Jim will not win this game.
Maddy and Paige we’re outside and Maddy was taking some pictures so we yelled over to take some at the beach so they ran down and Maddy took these.
***photos aren’t downloading by text and won’t airdrop. I ended up having to get her to airdrop Ava and then have Ava airdrop me, even though we are both in each others contacts already.
Jay came in from outside and was like “what happened to my Ron Zacapa?” We used it for Pina Coladas yesterday, so open the new bottle. Apparently I should have opened “our” bottle yesterday and not his. He said there was at least half a bottle left, but I only made one pitcher (photo from yesterday) which used probably 1/3 of a bottle (it was delicious). AND we know where to get more! He took it over to Anthony’s and I don’t think planned to bring it back but then sent Paige to fetch it for me.
We left for Angelina’s a little before 7pm to walk. We walked down the beach and the girls screamed every time they saw a little white crab scurry away from their flashlight.

We were greeted with a hug from Argerie, she said the girls were getting so big! I asked if she remembered Myah from last year and she said “she looked like them, they were all alike” and so introduced her to Avery, Myah’s sister who is here with Maddy this year.

The menu is slightly different at Angelina’s, but similar and everything was delicious. I had a shrimp starter that had corn and plantain and a spicy mango sauce. Then tenderloin and fries on the side. Jay had the burrata, which is the same as previous years, then a ribeye that we’re pretty sure was a New York strip and spicy green beans on the side. Everyone enjoyed their food.
I ordered a Sangiovese by the glass, it wasn’t good. Anthony had ordered it to come with his food so I let him taste it so he asked Argerie to switch to the cab sauv but tasted it (she brought a sample) and then ended up with a Malbec.
Jim and Maria ordered a white which I REALLY liked, but they weren’t huge fans of. Lots of flavour.

The walk back we did on the road, Jay had taken the kids back before we paid. We have done that a few times just to not make them wait. Also I think he wanted to get out of any birthday wishes because Sarah busted the surprise, even though he considered staying for the free dessert. Lol.

On the walk back we saw some raccoons in the trash, then later on I caught a spider in my flashlight and said “oh, a big spider” and Maria jumped a mile! Jim asked how big and I flashed my light on it while I said “Obviously not as big as she thought it was!”
There was a cool halo around the moon tonight, but you can’t see it.
