Woke up this morning to snow again - brilliant.
It was just after 8am when I woke up and I plan to be on the road for 9am to drive to Dashwood to pick up garlic sausage. I got 40lbs for us - got myself all set up in the car, toilet paper for the roadside pee that its assuredly happening, extra drinks, hand sanitizer, my mask, wallet and my winter jacket in case I need it. It’s a little less than a 3 hour drive to Zehr’s Country Market which is essentially a butcher shop.
The drive to Dashwood is flat and open, which means as soon as I started to feel like I might have to pee I started to scope out a place where any passerby might not spot me from a mile away. I found this nice little spot with a dip in the road AND a curve, it was basically a crescent back to the main road with a few farms on it. I liked it so much I returned on my way back home to use it again.
On the way back I met Aunt Jo-Anne and Uncle Dave in Exeter in the parking lot of Tim Horton’s to pick up Cigars for Dad that they shuttled across the border for him when they came home from Florida. I offered to just have Fedex pick them up since its about a 40 min drive from their house to the Tim’s but they wanted to get out of the house.
Round trip it was about 6 hours I left at 9am and I got home right at 3pm with just the one pee each way, the stop at Tim’s and a stop at McDonald’s Drivethru in Stratford for lunch.
When I got home at 3pm I had A LOT of emails to wade through. Jay’s car doesn’t have CarPlay so I couldn’t really check emails or texts during the drive. I had one mortgage approved this morning and another where the appraisal was delayed so I won’t get an answer until tomorrow - it still blows my mind that people are buying houses at this time but its a good sign because for 6 weeks I was DEAD and now I’m busy which is good.
Matthew and Carrie came over to pick up their sausage (25lbs), originally I was going to drop to Moms but I didn’t want to drive anymore! Steve is coming over at 5:30pm to pick up their sausage (25lbs) and have a workout with Jay. They were going from here to Mom’s for a walk so they took her sausage (10lbs) and the cigars to Mom and Dad.
I got home, did that work, Steve came over for a workout with Jay and we had nachos for dinner to get rid of a bunch of stuff in the fridge, including the last of the taco meat and veggies.
The girls are NOT listening today. Maybe it has something to do with the 5h46m of screen time Sophie has used today!! WTF. So they’ve both lost their phones, completely off, Paige until Thursday because chose to lose it for 3 days and spend an hour in her room instead of finishing her job of putting in the compost the stuff we cleaned out of the freezer in an effort to make room for the sausage as well as the McGregors delivery coming this week.
Numbers for today:
