8am alarm, 8:30am woke up both the girls to come down and do my workout with me since its Sophie’s day and Paige didn’t come down yesterday. It was a disaster.
I listened to the conference I wanted to hear while I baked cheese crackers this morning.
I sent Sarah a text asking if she would trade cheese crackers for eggs, so I picked up 18 fresh eggs after dinner tonight and dropped her about 30 crackers onto her porch with 3 cartons we had that we save for her as well.
I got a text from Julie, Ty’s Mom this morning that he was able to get two more small pots like Paige’s and did I want them. I said yes, I’ll replace the blue balls here with little succulent plants (I didn’t know at this point about the stretching because of not enough light).
I asked for this colour plant in the little pot.
We went for our walk and after I cut the back of Mom’s hair a little more, she was still finding it a little shaggy. I didn’t want to cut too much off so I just did a little with the scissors at the back and said that if she wasn’t happy with it I would do a little more next time.
Saw this meme and sent it to Jay!
For the first time in..forever..we are net positive on our income taxes!! This year I owe $10,000 and Jay is getting back $17,000 enough to pay for the 3 trees we have ordered, the seeding of the lawn AND the sofa in the basement bedroom which is being delivered on Saturday ;)
We’re also starting to get refunds from activities - the girls hockey we got a check for just over $900 today a return of ice for about $175 unused from the season and the rest is funds that were in the team account from fundraising and slush funds.
After dinner, which we had delivered today, we went to hand out cheese crackers, a little bag of 12 to Trev, a little bag of 12 to Maggie (we had a driveway drink with Maggie and Drew, Mags gave me a glass of the pineapple cider from Slabtown, its a little sweet but would probably be really good mixed with the Founder’s Dry - she wants the girls to hang out with Alice but we’re not ready for that yet), a big bag to Sarah and picked up the eggs and home. We also returned Kent’s extension cords and talked to him about his business and having to coordinate during COVID, I mentioned I wouldn’t want anyone in our house and Jay said he’s going to have the electrician in to finish up the lighting and I said no, not any time soon and Kent said “and this is what happens”. Eventually I’m sure that we will have people come back in the house but for now, as things just are opening up, and so many people are ignoring so many physical distancing rules because the sun is out and they can finally see their friends, not yet. Not until we see how this plays out in the next few weeks if there is a spike from re-opening. Jay said that last night he read that an infected person in S Korea went to 5 night clubs in one night potentially exposing over 11,000 people - they’ve recorded at least 130 cases in those clubs since.
A good friend of the family, Bill Paisley, who was our neighbour growing up passed away of COVID, with lots of underlying health issues - he was in a LTC facility in Scarborough after having suffered a stroke 6 months ago. He tested positive at the end of April and didn’t have his first symptoms, other than a low grade fever, until a few days ago and passed away today. Mom said the LTC facility went from 0 to 90 cases in 3 weeks and I think over 30 deaths now.
When we got home we played a game of keep up with the new Speedminton rackets we got. It comes with a cool helispeeder shuttlecock which has the plastic bits open and it good for keep up because it goes a lot slower and not as far. Originally I had bought a set of 2 rackets and we liked it so I bought another set of 2 directly from the company since Amazon wasn’t selling it anymore or was sold out - it took a long time to get here but is a lot of fun. Today I did my workout, went for a walk, cut the grass (push mower) for an hour to finish it off and played badminton - I was over 8,000 steps today so I’m happy with that.
I’m still waiting on my wallet and phone case I ordered the other day - I’m excited for them to come!
Today’s numbers, Uxbridge went up another 1 to 60:
I think they need to be smarter.
