Thank you to Sugar F/X in town for creating these for me on Friday when I called! I just said “Spend $40, I don’t care what’s in it and would prefer nothing Eastery anyway” which she was really happy about because they didn’t have any “Easter” stuff left, eggs and bunnies are overrated in my opinion.
I finished off the French toast to go into the oven so that it will be ready when the girls are finished their events.
First one - wacky outfit and hair..
Sophie definitely is willing to go outside the box, this really IS Paige’s idea of wacky.
Next up - come 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th at MarioKart - I really thought this might give me a chance to beat them..
But no, I was Donkey Kong.
Paige picked the tough one next, there is a big pile of soil out in the front of the house for grading.
You should have seen her face when she read the paper and then when we told her to read the other side!
Next up was dress like a lumberjack - the moustache was up to them how they wanted to complete it, both went their own ways. Sophie couldn’t find her plaid jacket, she thinks it might be in the wash, which would be a miracle since they don’t ever wash their clothes!
These little sparkling wines are PERFECT for mimosas. I got one started while the girls did their next chore...dress like a Prince and Princess.
I said to Sophie “Let me take a picture”
“A good picture, like you want an Easter treat”.
Princess Paige and Prince Sophie and their trusty steed ‘Dusty’.
I got a couple of photos of Paige before she realized I was taking them.
Next one was to beat Jay 2 out of 3 Rock Paper Scissors. After some preliminary discussion on if you threw on 3 or went one - two - three - throw they were off.
Round 1 vs Sophie goes to Jay.
Round 1 vs Paige goes to Jay.
Round 2 vs Sophie goes to...
Sophie!
Round 2 vs Paige goes to...
In an upset, it goes to Paige!
Next is Tennis.
Jay and I won the first set 2-3 and then won the second set 2-3 and the girls “won” the third set.
We came back upstairs and played “warmer, colder” until they found the baskets. The hardest part of that was just getting them to stay together!
Sophie said “I knew it! I knew we would get something for Easter!”
Once breakfast was all done and put away I got started on baking the cheesie crackers. I did 4 batches, one for Carrie for her birthday, one for Mom because she bought the cheese and 2 for me, one to keep out and one for the freezer.
When the crackers were all done I texted Mom and Dad to see if they wanted to meet us outside Carrie-Lyn’s house to give her her crackers and sing happy birthday and to wish the family a Happy Easter so when we left home I texted them to let them know that we were leaving and they met us at the end of their driveway and pulled out as we pulled past.
We had a nice little chat at the front porch of the house, Eddie was the most excited to see us and peed at my feet. He’s such a goofball.
When we got back I tidied up the kitchen and made the green beans and bacon for dinner tonight. That’s all Juls asked me to bring, but I also made the Mars Bar cake/brownies and brought little buns to warm up in the oven to go with dinner. I have some of my caramel sauce in the fridge too so I’ll warm that up a little bit to top the cake. I have no idea how this cake will turn out, hopefully its good! Juls made lemon cheesecake which I’m looking forward to - I LOVE lemon and LOVE cheesecake!
While I was doing this Jay was finishing up the painting - he’s now painted downstairs everywhere except cutting in the bedroom which I will have to do. We need another gallon of the paint which we can pick up on Monday from the paint store. You call in and they leave it on their front walk way in a box for you to pick up - the beauty of Uxbridge, when I went to pick up the other day there were probably 10 boxes with no worry that someone is going to walk off with a few extra boxes by ‘mistake’.
Jay ran over to the Faust’s and we saw him on the way over, he had said that he might want to be picked up but he gave the thumbs up that he was ok to continue running so we passed him and he finished his run.
We had a delicious turkey dinner, turkey, parsnip and carrot casserole, green beans with velveeta and bacon, mashed potatoes, little dinner rolls, stuffing and gravy. It was so good. Juls lemon cheese cake was awesome but I was so stuffed I only had a little bit. We played some Karma and then some Super Tock, as we were finishing up the game I said I thought this might be a one Super Tock night, I was SO tired...turkey coma. Steve agreed and I said “I know, it’s only 9 o’clock” “WHAT?!” Yeah, everyone was tired. We brought Avery and Myah home for a sleepover since tomorrow isn’t a school day. Haha. So we took the Pilot since it has enough seats and Juls will drop off the Porsche in the morning and pick up the Pilot on her way to work.
Went home and went straight to bed!
