Physical Distancing - Day 3 (Day 17)

Jay said “I can’t believe its already Thursday..”.  “It’s not”...checks calendar...”oh yeah it is”.

Today was more of the same, the girls got up and did some Knowledgehook, a math game where they earn starts and pass through levels online.

Important note (to me), Faust family decided the kids wouldn’t go in to work at Butternut, the retirement facility, for their part time jobs so Avery didn’t go in to work yesterday and Kobe won’t go in either.

The girls went out and helped Jay outside for a little bit and came in and had KD and wieners (just me, no one else likes wieners in their KD or ketchup on it - my family is weird).

I did more of my CRM and touched base with clients, attended a Webinar on Communicating During the COVID-19 crisis which was actually very good.  After that it was about 2pm, Jay has taken the girls over to the Faust’s, and I didn’t want to sit down again and do anymore work so I called Old Flame Brewery in Port Perry and ordered some beer for curbside pick up, paid over the phone and headed over to Port to pick it up.

In the news:

Premier Ford will present tomorrow the modelling that they’re using for the Province, he wants to be transparent with the people of Ontario.  While PM Trudeau says that any modelling at the Federal level all depends on how the people behave, are they physically distancing or not so there isn’t any point in sharing it essentially as its fluid.

Globally, the cases went over 1M today though the real cases are believed to be much higher because of testing shortages, differences in counting the dead and large number of mild cased that have gone unreported.  Critics say that some governments have been deliberately under-reporting cases in order to avoid public criticism.

Roughly 10% of the reported COVID cases in Ontario are healthcare workers.

A group of personnel key to keeping Ontario’s electricity system functioning may en up locked down in their control centres, 48 control-room operators are deemed essential and it may come to the point where they can’t leave the workplace because without them, the power grid would fail.   Yikes.

Jay, Trev and Steve went out for a road bike ride, its beautiful today. 12 degrees, though its supposed to go back down to 0 degrees tonight.

I baked some more cheese crackers today and Jay requested something sweet baked tomorrow “Can you bake something I like?”  Put in your order Sir, I’d be happy to accommodate.

Uxbridge had their first COVID-19 death today.  Douglas Crossing, the bigger of our 3 retirement residences in town, has their first case, which I believe was the fatality however I’m not sure as it wasn’t announced.  We have another 2 cases currently self-isolating in town for a total of 3 current cases in town.

We took the dogs out to Mom and Dad’s after dinner, salad and spicy chicken nuggets on top - lets call it a South West Glazed Crispy Chicken Salad, to pick up wood.  We took the dogs out with us and had a walk around the property with them before heading back home.

Since the Faust ‘kids’ didn’t go in to work we’re still seeing them - our homes are two islands.  The girls were over there and we were supposed to pick them up at 9:15pm. (Lol, Paige’s request) so I called Juls because it was only 8:30pm and asked them if they had time for a game and we would just come now because we were on our way.  We had the dogs in the back of the truck so just left them in there while we went in for an hour, played a couple of games and then went home.

Numbers for today:
