Physical Distancing - Day 15 (Day 29)

Its April 14th, Jay’s 44th birthday.

We got up this morning and I did my workout, I did Boxing Combo with Carrie-Lyn, Maria didn’t do it this morning.

After workout I did a round of sheet pick ups and drop offs for the new gowns for Butternut and then went to Vince’s Market to grab a couple of things for Jay’s birthday dinner.  He was ok with having lasagna since I planned on making it today anyway so I wanted to get some ACE bread so that I could make some garlic bread.  I invited the Faust’s over for dinner as well.

I had a big club pack of hamburger meat and a club pack of Italian sausage that I took out of the casings and had Sophie ‘help’ me with chopping up peppers, onion and garlic (she only did half a pepper), then grated the cheese in the food processor and made up a big lasagna for tonight, a regular 9 x 13” and a 7x7” for the freezer.

Chocolate chip cookies for dessert - I quadrupled the recipe, I probably didn’t need to, we have LOTS of cookies now and some for the freezer.

For some reason about 1/3 of the cookies came out totally flat.  I think because it said not to mix it too much or the gluten in the flour would make the cookies more doughy so I didn’t mix it enough and maybe the baking soda didn’t get into all the dough?

Sophie and I went into town again and went to the LCBO to pick up Jay a scotch for his birthday.  Wes was there and was very apologetic that they didn’t have any (good) scotch and recommended and Irish Whiskey - Midleton Very Rare 2017.  So we picked up that, well Sophie stayed in the car since when you go into a store you’re not supposed to bring your kids - one family member per trip which makes total sense.  The girls made up a bunch of events for Jay to do but he had meeting after meeting lined up today so not a lot of time.

At 5ish Carrie and the kids and Mom and Dad came to the driveway to wish Jay a Happy Birthday like we did the other day.  He got a couple of ice cream sandwiches, some Rice Krispie squares and a container of chocolate covered almonds for his birthday!

Finally the girls ran through with Jay quickly the few activities they had time for and then told him where to find his prize - in the scotch room, hidden in plain site.

Faust’s came over for dinner for lasagna and garlic bread, it was yummy.  We played some SuperTock and we won the first game and then lost the next two so we are currently down 6-7 in the World Series of Super Tock 2020 edition which is better then our 2018 showing at 3 - 47 (which though it doesn’t seem possible is actually pretty accurate).

News today - School is not going back on May 4th but they don’t have a specific date for return at this point.
Ontario Soccer sent us a letter that the girls rep soccer season, at this point, can not be started until May 31st and is subject to further change.
OMHA announced they will give red hats to all the teams that made it to the finals before the season was ended.
