Physical Distancing - Day 14 (Day 28)

Today is my last day for the sheets and gowns for Douglas Crossing.  We’ve collected, cut and sewed almost 100 gowns in the last 2 weeks with other groups recruiting their own sewers as well I’m sure that DC will have more than enough gowns.  I’ve let my ladies know that we don’t need any more and that they can put their skills to use for other causes now!

I was supposed to get up and do my workout this morning at 8am with Maria and Carrie but I turned my alarm off at 7:30am and went back to sleep until almost 9:30am!  Maria had bailed too so Carrie did it on her own, I texted Maria later and asked if she wants to do it this afternoon so we’ll do it a little later, 4:30pm to be exact after Maria gets some work done.

Jay got our tax stuff together and took it down to the accountant today, I think he wanted to get out of the house because I don’t think it required a drive down to Thornhill.  It took me a while to find my T4A on our system because is uploaded onto a prior version of our system, why I have no idea.

After that I put through 2 deals that have closed to payroll, so I should get paid on those this week which is good.  I qualified for the $2,000 a month CERB benefit the government launched for March 15 - April 11th because I didn’t have any income.  I won’t apply for this period because I’ll have income but I’ll be able to apply for May 11 period because I don’t have any mortgages closing in May, not until June when I have 3, so I won’t be able to apply for that period either but then if I don’t have any mortgages closing in July I can apply for July and August.  CBC says that nearly 6M people have applied for the COVID-19 Emergency Benefits.  We also deferred our mortgage payments by 6 months, right now Jay is still drawing a salary from his work but my income has dropped significantly so we figured if we can still make the payments we’ll make a pre payment to the mortgage each month and in the months we feel it might make sense to hold back then we will.

They’re anticipating a surge in the market once people are able to get out and about again, so hopefully that’s the case since my income has about a 60-90 day lag time.

I took my club pack of hamburger and sausage out of the freezer this morning, I’ll make a pasta sauce tomorrow for lasagna and spaghetti.

I watched a webinar and sent my notes out to some friends and then finally did my workout with Maria at 4:30pm.  Its funny what an accountability buddy and some guilt can make you do!  Haha.

After workout and dinner, chicken nuggets, tater tots (I sent a text to Julia saying “This is what tater tots are SUPPOSED to look like” after I made them the other day but they weren’t crispy and she didn’t even know what tater tots were!)

and garden salad, we played a couple of rounds of Karma and a game of What The Fish!

Jay didn’t want to play any more games and the girls had had enough screen time for the day because it was rainy and windy and cold so I suggested they have a bubble bath so they got in the bath together!  In their swim suits. They were in there a long time!  Brushed their hair, put it in braids and off to bed.
