Physical Distancing - Day 6 (Day 20)

Last night a friend who works at a long term care facility asked if any of us have fabric and can sew some isolation gowns for the staff there.  She had been getting asked from people if they could do anything to help so she put out a request.  I was trying to figure out how to get fabric for cheap and all of the sudden thought of sheets..I messaged Stacey and asked her if sheets would work and she said yes and so a couple of us posted on Facebook that we were looking for sheet donations to make gowns and an hour later I had a truck full of sheets and 3 sewers to drop off to!  This is what Uxbridge is all about.  One of the women who volunteered to sew has a friend on the local paper who saw her post which tagged me and so they’re doing a little article on it i the paper.  I asked Stacey first if it was ok, she said it was, she’d like to thank the community for stepping up to help and tell them that they appreciate it.  So I gave Julie Stacey’s number, my number, the number of another sewer and the number of  another ‘collector’ like me who ended up with a truck full of sheets to drop off to sewers.

Then I came back and tackled the other puzzle I picked up from Kerry.  This one had bigger pieces and fewer but the pieces didn’t follow a patter, some were up, some were sideways, so it was still a little challenging.  Sophie chose this one but she didn’t end up helping at all.  Paige came over a couple of times and picked up a piece and then said “Uh, no, I still hate puzzles” and walked away.

Actually doing the puzzle wasn’t the initial plan, I was supposed to come home and do a family regatta.  The girls had thought of a bunch of activities for us to do as a family today after I suggested we do a SuperDeker challenge, which is a hockey stick handling game.  I walked in the door and Sophie ran to me saying “Mom, so you’re on Paige’s team”.  “Ok, who’s on your team?” Dad.
“Paige, Mom’s on your team” Paige crying. “You know what, you guys are A-holes, forget it, I’m not doing it”.  Not a shining moment but something similar happened yesterday too when we were playing Mario Kart.  So I started the puzzle and no one did the regatta.  Fun times.

We had breakfast for dinner, I cooked bacon, hash browns and eggs - it was yummy, we haven’t done that in a really long time.

After dinner Jay and I finished the puzzle, he likes to come in and do it when its almost done I’ve learned.

Then it was bed time.
